Upon graduation, she joined Heinen Brothers Agra Service as a sales agronomist, focusing on cotton and wheat crop protection, as well as brush and weed control. Based in Vernon, Texas, Whitney joins Americot as a sales representative, supporting growers and customers in the Northern Plains region.

Charlcey Plummer graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Communications. She was raised on the family farm in Altus, Oklahoma, growing cotton and wheat and worked the past six years as a territory manager for Corteva Agriscience in South Texas and Oklahoma. Based in Tuttle, Oklahoma, Charlcey joins Americot as a sales representative, supporting customers and growers in the Northern Plains region.

Derrel Johnson, joins as a sales representative, supporting customers and growers in Americot’s Northern Plains region. Growing up as a cotton ginner’s son, he has been around cotton and farming all of his life, including operating the family-owned cotton gin in Silverton, Texas, for nearly 40 years prior to joining Americot. Derrel is based out of Silverton, Texas.

Bo Mathis graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriscience. He has spent the last seven years as a sales rep for Phytogen, working territories in Georgia. Bo joins Americot as a sales representative, serving growers and customers in the Southeast region, based in Tifton, Georgia.

Doug Pustejovsky was raised on the family farm in Abbott, Texas and earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Entomology from Texas A & M University. Prior to joining Americot, he spent the last 20 years at Monsanto as an agronomist and a sales manager. Doug is based in Abbott, Texas, and as a sales representative, he supports customers and growers in the Central/South Texas region.

Ricky Backus graduated from Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He has been in the agriculture business since graduation, working in various crops and aspects of the industry, including sugar beets, seed and chemical. Most recently, Ricky was a district sales manager for WinField United in the Texas Panhandle. Based in Nazareth, Texas, he joins Americot as a sales representative, serving growers and customers in the High Plains region.

Russell Fritsch joins Americot as the greenhouse manager, located in Lubbock, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Management from Texas Tech University. Russell has more than 20 years of experience in cotton, soybean, and sorghum trait research, and also experienced in ornamental chemical applications.

Scott Russell has transitioned from Southeast sales representative to research and germplasm specialist, based in Georgia and supporting customer sales and growers in the area. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Entomology/Integrated Pest Management (IPM), then earned a Master of Science degree in Entomology from Louisiana State University. He has been with Americot since 2017 and previously spent 17 years as an independent crop consultant for cotton and peanut growers in South Georgia.

Dr. Sterling Brooks Blanche graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in in Agronomy, then completed a Master of Science degree in Weed Science at Mississippi State University. He then earned a Ph.D. in Agronomy and Crop Science from Louisiana State University, where doctoral studies focused on cotton breeding location, variety and environmental interactions. Before joining Americot, Brooks worked as a Cotton Development Specialist for Phytogen for seven years, and prior to that was an agronomist and assistant professor at Louisiana State University. Based out of Saint Joseph, Louisiana, Brooks supports research and breeding efforts for growers in the Southeast and Delta regions as a germplasm specialist.

Dr. Todd Spivey joins Americot as a germplasm specialist, supporting our research and breeding activities for growers in North Carolina and Southeast regions. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University and holds a Ph.D. in Crop Physiology where he focused on cotton production. Prior to joining Americot, Todd served as the state soybean agronomist for the Louisiana State University AgCenter.

Levi Schaefer is a graduate of Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics, as well as a Master of Science degree in Agribusiness. He was involved in cotton research while at Texas Tech and has spent the last several years farming and as an independent Oil and Gas Landman. Levi joins Americot as a germplasm specialist, supporting research and breeding efforts in the Northern and Southern Plains of Texas.

Jason Walton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Science with a minor in Ag Business, then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Weed Science, all from Mississippi State University. While completing his master’s degree, Jason’s research involved working in the development of weed control programs with Roundup Ready® Flex cotton prior to commercial release. Jason started his career with CPS in northeast Mississippi as a sales rep and worked for them for five years, then spent the next nine years with Progeny Ag covering north Mississippi and Alabama. Most recently, he has been a Master Agronomy Advisor partnered with MidSouth Farmers Coop and Winfield United. Jason joins Americot as a sales representative in the South Delta.

Andy Rowsey’s agricultural career has spanned over two decades, most recently as an agronomist and salesman with Mid-South Farmers Co-op in western Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from Mississippi State University and joins the Americot family as a North Delta sales representative, serving growers and customers in this region.

Jason Roberts graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Business. Upon graduation, he joined TennArk Crop Services as an independent crop consultant, servicing growers in west Tennessee and the Missouri Bootheel for 12 years. Jason then spent seven years as a sales representative for CPS in Portageville, Missouri followed by three years with BASF as an innovation specialist in the Missouri Bootheel. Jason joins Americot as a sales representative, supporting customers and growers in the North Delta region.

David Roberts earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where he then worked the family farm with his father and brother upon graduation. He spent three years working as a program technician at the Rohwer Research Station, University of Arkansas, then spent the last seven years as a full-time independent crop consultant, covering southeast Arkansas. David joins Americot as a sales representative, supporting North Delta growers and customers.

Carter Moberley graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, then spent two years as a salesman with UAP, based in El Campo, Texas. From there, he spent 11 years as a salesman and then manager at Sanders, Inc. in Tallulah, Louisiana. Carter is also a farmer, growing soybeans and cotton on his family farm, where he also operates a custom application business. He joins Americot as a sales assistant based in Tallulah, Louisiana, supporting the MidSouth team and growers in that area.

Americot, Inc., a leading supplier of premium cotton seed, is now offering impressive cash rebates on selected crop protection products when purchased in conjunction with its NexGen®XtendFlex® varieties. Qualifying growers can earn a rebate up to $4.00-per-acre or more, by bundling their seed purchase with essential herbicides, insecticides and Americot’s CottolySTEnhanced Seed Treatment.

The 2019 Americot Advanced Protection Program enables growers to select from several herbicide and insecticide products – all while helping to promote a stronger start and better yield potential for their cotton crops.

Specifically, the purchase must include at least 40 units of NexGen XtendFlex cotton seed along with at least 60 gallons of Interline®brand glufosinate herbicide or 120 gallons of InterMocherbicide (or equivalent combined amounts of the two). Interline and InterMoc glufosinate-based herbicides are the only non-selective alternative to glyphosate in-crop, which is effective in controlling resistant Palmer Amaranth as well as a broad spectrum of weeds and grasses. Additional rebates can be earned on purchases of MoccasinII Plus (S-Metolachlor), Satellite®(pendimethalin), Argyle, and Acenthrininsecticides, as part of this program.

“This program benefits growers in multiple ways,” said Terry Campbell, business development at Americot, “it promotes insect and weed control best management practices across the Cotton Belt and provides a cash incentive to the grower for doing so.”

Americot’s Advanced Protection Program takes effect immediately and will apply to any qualifying purchases made until August 31, 2019. The offer is open to growers in all cotton-producing states in the U.S. where the NexGen brand of cotton seed is sold.

Dusty Parker grew up on a corn and cotton farm in Uvalde, Texas. Mark Barfield holds a M.S. degree in Agronomy from Louisiana State University and has more than 20 years of experience breeding, testing, and selecting cotton varieties for the southeast full-season market while working for Stoneville-Monsanto-Bayer. Mark most recently was an agronomist with Land O’ Lakes-Winfield United where he spent the last three years. Based in Leesburg, Georgia, he joins the Americot breeding team as the southeast cotton breeder, where he will direct specific regional breeding activities, in addition to working jointly with the Texas-based research and breeding teams.

Mike Robinson earned a Ph.D. from Mississippi State University in Agronomy and Crop Science and has more than 21 years of experience breeding, testing, and selecting cotton varieties for the midsouth early-mid season market while working for Stoneville-Monsanto-Bayer. He most recently was a cotton breeder for Bayer CropScience and is also an experienced manager of breeders, with significant involvement in plant genetics and biotechnology. Mike joins the Americot breeding team as the eastern regional breeding manager, based in Greenville, Mississippi, where he will manage specific breeding activities in that region. He will also work together with Americot’s Texas-based research and breeding teams.
