When Americot started in 1987, we established three simple business priorities: excellent performance, quality products, and exceptional people to serve our growers. Our advantage has always been our singular focus on cotton seed, and we strive to provide quality cotton seed in varieties with high yield potential, excellent fiber properties, and incorporating the most current technologies available.
In 1998, we introduced our first varieties with the Roundup Ready® trait, followed by the introduction of new varieties which included B2RF technologies in 2005. In 2007, we introduced the integration of the NexGen® and Syngenta® germplasm, which has since provided a broad and unique genetic base of cotton seed lines. This germplasm depth has allowed us to build upon the resources previously established at Americot.
Since then, we’ve continued to build a broad germplasm base through acquisitions and germplasm licenses, including initiating trait integration of B2XF in 2005, Bollgard® 3 trait integration in 2012. In 2015, we began working with the new ThryvOn™ Technology trait from Bayer® – the industry’s first biotech trait to provide season-long protection against tarnished plant bugs and thrips species.*
These expansion efforts enable our research team to continually develop new product offerings, utilizing performance-enhanced germplasm for new technology traits.
At Americot, all we do is cotton, all the time. It’s been that way for the last 30 years, and we are committed to the continued development of quality products. Look to Americot to bring you the latest insect and herbicide technologies while providing excellent performance – all backed by our knowledgeable team.
